Questions and answers
How do I write page ranges?
Separate ranges with commas, for example 1-3, 5, 7-9. Each range becomes its own PDF. "8-" means page 8 to the end, and "-3" means pages 1 to 3.
Why do I get a ZIP file?
When a split creates more than one PDF, the files are packed into one ZIP so you only have to download once. Most systems open ZIP files with a double-click.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Your browser opens and processes the files on your device. They are not uploaded to our server.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
Yes, if you know the password. The tool asks for it, uses it only in your browser, and the new file is saved without a password.
Is anything lost from the original PDF?
The pages, including text, images and links, are copied as they are. Bookmarks (the outline) and fillable form fields are not carried over to the new file.
