Convert images
Convert images between JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF. GIF and BMP files can be converted too. Transparent areas get a background colour of your choice when saving as JPG.
Your files stay on your device. They are processed in your browser and not uploaded.

Questions and answers
Which format should I use?
JPG for photos that must open everywhere, PNG for screenshots and graphics with sharp edges or transparency, WebP and AVIF for small files on websites. AVIF is the smallest but slow to create.
Can I use HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Not yet. The HEIC decoders available are under licences we do not use. On an iPhone, choose Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible, or share the photo as JPG.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Your browser opens and processes the images on your device. They are not uploaded to our server.
What happens to the location and camera data in my photos?
It is removed by default. Photos often contain the GPS position where they were taken, the date and the camera’s serial number. You can choose to keep it when saving JPG as JPG.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after you have used it once: your browser keeps a copy of the tool, so it also works without an internet connection. Your files are never part of that copy.
