About this site

This site offers free tools for PDF, image, video and other files. They run in your browser, so your files are not uploaded.

Why in the browser

• Your files stay with you. Many online tools upload your file to a server. These do not. See how it works.
• No waiting for uploads. Work starts as soon as you pick a file.
• Cheap to run. We do not pay for servers that process files, which is what lets us keep the tools free.

How it is paid for

The tools are free and you do not need an account. We plan to cover the running costs with ads. There are no ads on the site yet.

Open-source software

The site is built with open-source software, including Astro, Preact and Comlink, and uses the IBM Plex Sans typeface (SIL Open Font License). The image tools include WebAssembly builds of libavif, libaom and libwebp; see their licences.
