Add text to PDF

Type text anywhere on a PDF, for example to fill in a form that has no fields. Choose the font, size, colour and bold or italic. Accented letters, Greek and Cyrillic work with the included IBM Plex Sans font. Your file is not uploaded.

Your files stay on your device. They are processed in your browser and not uploaded.

Questions and answers

Which characters can I type?

Helvetica, Times and Courier cover Western European letters. Switch to IBM Plex Sans for other accented letters, Greek and Cyrillic. The editor warns you if a character cannot be saved.

Do text boxes wrap long lines?

No. Each line you type stays one line; press Enter to start a new one.

Can I change text that is already in the PDF?

Not yet. The editor adds new content on top of the pages. To replace a word you can cover it with white-out and type over it, but the covered text stays in the file and can still be copied or found by search.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened, edited and saved by your browser on your device. It is not uploaded to our server.

Does it work offline?

Yes, after you have used it once: your browser keeps a copy of the tool, so it also works without an internet connection. Your files are never part of that copy.
