Compress PNG
Make PNG files smaller. At quality 100 the image stays pixel for pixel the same; below that, the number of colours is reduced, which often halves the size of screenshots and graphics with little visible change. Transparency is kept.
Your files stay on your device. They are processed in your browser and not uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop your PNG images on the box above, or choose them from your device.
- Set the quality: 100 is lossless, lower values use fewer colours.

Questions and answers
Why does the quality setting change colours?
PNG is a lossless format, so it gets smaller by storing fewer colours. 256 colours are usually enough for screenshots and logos; photos are better as JPG or WebP.
Is transparency kept?
Yes. Transparent and semi-transparent areas stay as they are.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Your browser opens and processes the images on your device. They are not uploaded to our server.
Can I process many images at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like; several are processed at the same time, and you can download them one by one or together as a ZIP file.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after you have used it once: your browser keeps a copy of the tool, so it also works without an internet connection. Your files are never part of that copy.
