Compress image to 100 KB

Make a photo small enough for a form or upload limit: 100 KB, 50 KB, 20 KB or any size you type. Each image is saved at the best quality that fits, and made smaller in pixels only if it has to be. Your images are processed in your browser and are not uploaded.

Your files stay on your device. They are processed in your browser and not uploaded.

Questions and answers

How does it reach the size?

It saves the image at the highest quality that still fits. If even the lowest quality is too big, it also makes the image smaller in pixels, which you can turn off.

Is 100 KB 100,000 or 102,400 bytes?

Forms count it either way, so the tool aims for 100,000 bytes. A file that fits also passes checks that count 1 KB as 1,024 bytes.

Can I compress a PNG to 100 KB?

Yes. It is saved as JPG, which every form accepts, or as WebP if you choose. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white; WebP keeps them.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Your browser opens and processes the images on your device. They are not uploaded to our server.

Does it work offline?

Yes, after you have used it once: your browser keeps a copy of the tool, so it also works without an internet connection. Your files are never part of that copy.
