How to save a PDF page as a JPG image
Updated 16 October 2026
Sometimes you need a page of a PDF as a picture: to post it, to put it into a presentation, or to send it to someone whose app only accepts images. Converting a PDF page to JPG takes a few seconds and needs no software.
Convert PDF pages to JPG
- Open PDF to JPG and drop your PDF on the box, or choose it from your device.
- Every page is shown as a thumbnail and ticked. To convert only some pages, select Clear selection and tick the ones you want.
- Choose a resolution (see below).
- Select Convert to JPG and download the result.
If you converted one page, you get a single JPG file named after the PDF and the page number, for example report-page-03.jpg. If you converted several pages, they come together in one ZIP file so you only download once; most computers and phones open ZIP files with a tap or double-click.
Which resolution?
| Resolution | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Screen (72 DPI) | Quick previews and small images for chat or email |
| Standard (150 DPI) | Websites, presentations and most everyday uses |
| Print (300 DPI) | Printing, or zooming into small text and fine detail |
A higher resolution gives sharper images and larger files. A full A4 page at 150 DPI is about 1,240 × 1,750 pixels.
JPG or PNG?
JPG makes smaller files and is right for pages with photos. For pages that are mostly text, lines and diagrams, PDF to PNG keeps edges perfectly sharp and keeps transparent areas, at the cost of larger files.
Protected PDFs
If the PDF needs a password to open, you are asked for it. The password is only used in your browser to open the file.
The other way round
To turn images back into a PDF, use JPG to PDF. Each image becomes a page, in the order you choose.
Everything happens in your browser: the PDF is not uploaded, and the images are created on your device.
